Art and nature have always been a source of joy for Sharon, so it is not hard to understand why she has combined them.
She was once told nothing is more beautiful than an actual live flower, so why would anyone waste their time to draw one? Sharon’s current work, which she refers to as stylized floral portraiture, is a response to that statement. Perfect things aren’t perfect. And imperfect things should be celebrated.
Sharon is very thankful for her family who has always supported her creativity. She earned a B.F.A. from Northern Illinois University and has shown her work in Chicago in numerous group and solo shows. Now living in Antioch with her husband Allen, Sharon continues to create and show her artwork. When not painting, Sharon enjoys spending time with friends and family, working in the garden, and playing with her beloved pets.
