Featured Artist Helmut Rosenberg

Helmut Rosenberg’s interest in art began in the first grade when his painting of a policeman stopping a car won him a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago!  Over those early years his creativity was encouraged by teachers who gave him jobs designing displays, making posters and decorating bulletin boards.

Helmut majored in architecture at college, drawing inspiration from Michelangelo, DaVinci and Frank Lloyd Wright, but his studies were interrupted by four years of military service in Vietnam.  He was able to take a few art classes in the Philippines before returning home to finish college.

Helmut went on to a successful career as a professional designer, working with numerous industries on the artistry, design and development of new products.  Ever the artist, while working with Playskool to design toys he spent his free time taking oil painting classes.

Following the study of landscape, floral and wildlife technique, Helmut became a certified instructor in all three areas.  He enjoyed teaching oil painting part time on evenings and weekends, giving him the opportunity to be creative while making new friends.  Helmut is now happily retired and is continuing to fulfill his love of producing art.
