September 25, 2019 – Hi Liter Interviews Antioch Fine Arts Foundation Artists
February 1, 2019 Water Damage at the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation gallery.
Below are a few pictures of the water damage that was caused by frozen pipes at the AFAF Gallery on 2/1. This occurred after two days of temperatures falling below -20F due to the polar vortex that descended on the area.
Thanks to Nick from South Shore Heating and Air Conditioning, the repairs to the water pipes that were part of the heating system are well underway.
The Gallery reopened 2/6.
Public Art Program: Antioch's DOGS ON THE CHAIN (of Lakes)
This was a community art project that leveraged the talent of members of the Antioch Fine Arts Foundation and delighted animal and art enthusiasts of all ages. DOGS ON THE CHAIN transformed Antioch into a dog-walking paradise. This brought together local artists and the business community with the creation of life- sized, hand-painted fiberglass dogs that have found homes throughout Antioch's Business Community, both in the Downtown area and around the Chain of Lakes. The final auction of the dogs was held in the Fall and provided much needed dollars for our Open Arms Food Pantry, Save-A-Pet, and the ACHS Scholarship Fund. Over $20,000 was raised. (Source: Antioch Chamber online newsletter) Throughout the year, the Gallery also hosts special receptions and openings for artists' new works.
